The concept of the festival is based on inviting all levels of musicians to play or sing freely on stages and in the streets, offering free entertainment to everyone attending the festival. The festival works on a volunteer basis and no artists are paid to perform.
The performances are open to all ages and genres. There are three ways to perform:

1. Become part of the official programme by registering on-line. Your name will appear on the programme of the day and you will be advised on available busking stages and street performance areas. You might also be invited to play on one of the main stages, or in some of the participating restaurants in the Old East Precinct.
Be sure to indicate times available and details of your performance. If you want to register more than one group, please handle each one as a separate registration. You can register here:

2. Apply to perform on one of the main stages. A selection of musicians and bands will be invited to perform on the main stages, depending on their offering, social media presence and following. If you aren’t selected to perform on a main stage, your name will still appear on the programme and you will be introduced to available busking stages. No artists will be paid for performances. Artists who would like to be considered to play on stage have to apply by filling out the application form at

3. Musicians can also just show up on the day and play in the street. Unfortunately, no space on busking- or main stages can be guaranteed.

Please note:
• Only main stages will have sound equipment and backlines. If you plan to perform in the street on the provided busking stages, please bring your own sound equipment (please consider other musicians in terms of sound levels).
